    T2W4 vs M2B4 transmission

Im in need of a new tranny as some of you know i have a hole the size of a penny in mine. I deff need a tranny with LSD, i was going to go with the M2B4 but i read that 2nd and 5th gear go bad pretty quick. I never herd much about the t2w4 tranny i just want to know which tranny is better for my 95 h22a and is the t2w4 a direct bolt on.

The t2w4 is a direct bolt on to your h22. I can vouch for the 2nd gear going bad on the m2b4. Mine is just starting to feel like it will become a full grind in the future.

I had the M2B4 and upgraded to the T2W4.. IMO its the best factory h series produced.

grinds can happen to any tranny. I havent seen any evidence saying the t2w4 is better with grinding than the m2b4

I have the P2t4 non lsd.

From all the reading that I did. The newer H trannys the T and P they fixed most of the grinding 5th and 2nd.

I did however read about some reverse going out. It may have just been a fluke.

I love my p2t4, no grinds or anything. I am contemplating putting a mfactory lsd in it over the winter.

And the ratio's are diff between the two. The T is slightly taller than the M.

I had a 5th gear grinding and pop out on my M2B4. But after i fixed it, by replacing with an F22 5th for better hwy mpgs, it hasn't given me any issues.

NOTE, you will have to shim the F22 gear to fit, so it doesn't drop right in.

Haven't had any 3rd gear issues on this tranny. I did have an M2A4 that had a 3rd gear grind and pop out though.
