    EGR and IM cleaning

I am cleaning my Egr ports and Ive seen a couple post about power washing the intake but didnt give detail on how. I am afraid there might be carbon chunks and/or metal shavings after cleaning so if possible I would like to try. Would it be a mistake if I rinsed all that gunk that went inside the manifold with a regular garden hose and let it sit and dry for 24 hours? I live in the desert so it should dry quick. Intake is off the car FYI.

I used purple power to clean the a6 runners and h23 plenum that I got from a junkyard. I am not sure just rinsing itself will be enough to remove the oil/carbon inside the intake. It won't hurt it though to rinse with a hose and let it dry for 24 hours in the heat/desert.

The carbon build up is usually pretty bad, simply passing water through it won't help clear much out. You'll have to get abrasive, pretty much. Compressed air can help some, but a nice sturdy poking stick will probably work best.

I cleaned it pretty good. Just dont want any big carbon chunks or metal flakes getting in my cylinders. Thought a good rinse would finish off the job.
