    Undone bolt

Went out to my car this morning to find that the front-left bolt of my passenger seat had come out of the threading, and I cannot get it to go back in no matter what I do. Does the seat need to be weighted down while I try to put it back in?? It will catch some threads but wont go all the way in, just goes tight then loose. I just dont understand how it came out...

How much force do I need to use to get the covers off the bolts? They do not want to seem to come off.

theyre stuck on there pretty good...just pry them off from the side with a flat head screwdriver and you should be fine...try cleaning the threads as well

Also, becareful not to lift the lever that moves the seat back and forth while its out of the car, its spring-loaded so it will mess up the alignment of the two seats, which isn't too bad but if you get impatient (like i did) when trying to realign it, the bolt holes wont match up correctly. (caused me to strip the bolt hole on the passenger's side cuz i THOUGHT they were lined up correctly, but were jsut being difficult)

Adjusted the bolt holes, then stuck the 2 front bolts in and very very loosely tightened them. Then I slid the seat all the way forward, making sure to hold the slides down so when pulling the seat forward it doesn't move the slides as well. Then I stuck the remaining back 2 in and tightened everything back up.

Getting those short bolts to go back in in the correct alignment may take a little time, but it all goes back together fine.

Mines stripped, has been for almost a year. I just stuck a bolt down in there to hold it and tightened the other three. It works, but I'd rather get it fixed right. Where do I need to go?

you can probably go to autozone, napa, home depot, or lowes, and match up one of the bolts with something they have there. it's a 14mm bolt, so you just need to get the right length and diameter of the threaded part.
