    Fuel filter leaking

I just replaced my fuel filter. I tightened down both bolts 17 and 14mm and the 17 is leaking. I put the two new washers underneath the bolt between the head of the bolt and the line. I have tried time and time again to tighten it but it keeps leaking a very small amount. I'd like it if I could avoid my car catching fire and I could fix it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Are you saying you stacked the 2 washers together? If so that is your problem.

I did stack them. From what I read, I thought that is what I was supposed to do. Where am I supposed to put the other one then? In between the fuel line and the filter?

Cool. I stacked them instead of one in between each. Switched them and it hasn't leaked so far. Thanks for the help. I'll report back if anything changes

That's funny, when I opened the box for the new filter I noticed two washers, then when I removed the old one from my car I only noticed one? Soon I noticed the second when I lifted one of the lines so I knew the second one had to have came from underneath. My problem was the line that screws in. That started leaking,. There was a little o ring that needed to put in. After that the leak stopped but my car smells like gas now and its been almost a month later
