So from what I know, there's a steel oil pan and aluminum pan. Are these pans interchangeable?

In the US the H22A1 came with a steel pan and used a rubber gasket. The H22A4 has a cast aluminum pan and is sealed with RTV and a small rubber strip in the curvature of the rear main seal.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. Okay. Would it be possible to use the aluminum pan on the h22a which came with a steel one..
