    Estimate Question

Hey guys, just a little background info--its been a while since I've owned an accord. After leaving home for the military im finally returning and i'm ready to get back into a Honda. My sister owns a 93 4dr and i was planning on buying it until the transmission went. But after 3 weeks or so at the shop the car is finally out and not even an hour later some chick ran a stop sign and my sister smashed into her. How much am i looking at here to repair it?

    Its a 93, nothing fancy

I think that may be a bit conservative Ryan. The frame that the fenders bolt to on the drivers side is damaged. It needs at least one head light, turn signal, and corner marker, hood, bumper, radiator and fans, the A/C tubing is sure to be ruined, it needs a new radiator support welded in, the whole left side of the car suspension and drive needs to be gone through if the other car struck the tire. This is all I see without opening the hood and more photos of the damages. I would assume the body or the cruise control is now contacting the alternator or power steering pump and the belts may not be turning, if this is the case the motor needs to be gone through.

          $1500+ for a shop.

          Is my guess anyways.

^^^^what he said. This is almost the exact same damage that recently happened to a friend's older Corolla (it needed new bumper, all lights, hood, rad, rad support, condenser, power steering res. Bumper support and fenders were ok, and motor looked ok, although he didn't want to start it without the coolant) . The insurance shop quoted $4500, turned out there wasn't collision on the vehicle, so corner shop said $650 for all wrecker parts w/out AC, and between $500 - $1000 for labour, and just put together so that it goes, no paint or panel alignment, etc. If it wasn't for having to drill out the spot welds for the rad support and re-weld it I would have taken the car off of him, but glad I didn't in the end as it would have been a lot of elbow grease. He ended up selling it for parts.

It looks like yours is even worse off, esp with more angle to the impact - wildBill's points about suspension and steering are spot on. Wish it wasn't so...
