Crossed Knock and Oil sensor wires, No CEL for a year?

Hey everyone... like the title says, when i did my H swap I accidentally crossed the wires for the knock and oil sensors. The thing is though, Ive put over 20,000 miles on the motor with the wires crossed, and no CEL the entire time. I only just came to realize it when I was removing my intake manifold, and accidentally busted(what i thought was the oil sensor)the knock sensor. So I obliviously look up a new oil pressure sensor and it does not look like the sensor i just broke. Thats when i realized that ive had them crossed.

My main question is... why no CEL the entire time? is it cause OBD1 Isnt smart enough to tell what sensor was there? Ive been failing over and over again with emissions for high NOx, around 2500ppm all the time. Would the knock sensor cause this much of an effect on my NOx. I know that kina sounds retarded... But I need to find the culprit for the high nox issuse. Ive been battling it for almost a year now. any advice appreciated!!

    edit* forgot to mention, i have a 94' jdm H22a on a usdm p13.

If your ECU thinks that there is knock, then it will retard the timing to try to lessen it. NOx comes from a lean mixture, it IS possible that this is the cause of your issue, but there's no way of knowing without the actual numbers (all of them) from your emissions test.

I've found that a high NOx reading is usually caused by a bad catalytic converter.

Are you sure your CEL light even works?

False alarm! Finally got the intake manifold back off this morning so I could get a good look at my harness, and it turns out that I did properly wire the knock sensor
From my view below, it looked like my oil pressure sensor was hooked into my subharness that I made for knock/vtec etc. So now I'm back to square one.... my test results are: hydrocarbons-180ppm. CO-.50 ppm. NOx-2300ppm.
        Max-60ppm. Max-.51ppm. Max-490ppm
The only idea I have now is that maybe my cat is a cheapo. Cause my car passes, but not within the 120 seconds they allow to pass. Also when I cleaned my egr ports a few months ago, I put on a hondata manifold gasket. When I just removed the manifold I noticed that all 10 bolts holding it on were super loose, and I was actually completely missing one on the bottom. So I think my manifold may have been leaking a tiny bit, leaning out my mixture and helping produce my high NOx.
And yes Djender, my CEL does work. Its currently on for knock sensor, and 02 sensor. Code 23, and 41. Maybe ill try a new cat, and replace my.knock sensor with a properly grounded circuit.
