    Intermittent No Crank

90 Accord LX F22A all stock. Every few days or so the car wont crank over. Ive replaced the ign lock cyl and the electrical switch/harness parts. I drove it to work the next day, no issues. My girl drove it the next day, after about 3-4 starts with no issue, it wont crank at all.

The car has a 2 month old battery, and the new ign switch parts. And i installed a known good main relay a few months ago. Could it be the starter, or main relay? I havent had the car do it to me to see/hear if the fuel pump was priming or not.

    Anyone have this happen before?

is it "no crank no start" or "crank no start" ?! <= u need 1 more person to verify that.

No crank, starter does not engage/turn.

        - do you know how to remove the main relay ?! ... you can find it in the DIY or Youtube - ERIC THE CAR GUY. it needs soldering ..
        - try a different battery ... borrow from your friend, family
        - also check your battery cables, if you have the money replace them if they're old.

you can do these things before we deduce negative conclusions.

Haha, Im well past those steps. Even if the battery wasnt new, I would still be be hard pressed to see how that would cause a intermittent issue with the start circuit. The main relay has been replaced with a known good/inspected relay. Batt cables are just fine.

Eric the car guy is too long winded for me... This is not my first honda lol

Looking for anything out of the ordinary. As per my first post, Ive been thru the "usual suspects" as I call them.

It is likely the issue is with starter motor interrupter/safety at fault since you have new ignition switch. The diagram shows both types of transmissions.

Also, note that there's no main relay associated with starting system, as wrongly suggested.

Highly doubt its the main relay. Because main relay only controls the fuel pump, no crank leads to either the starter or ignition switch. If you hit the start a bunch of times and it finally cranks then its the starter itself.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

They are new too! Its NOT a battery issue.

Down to the switch/lock housing, or starter. Will continue when it stops cranking again. Been driving it all day, no issues.

                      Thanks to those who helped.

Since you did that already and assume that you ring up all the wires and switches, what else is there to suspect but the starter motor................

Im thinking the 'housing' that the switch bolts to and lock turns inside maybe worn the heck out. Its got 1000's of cycles and is 23 years old lol Im thinking it may be wallowed out enuff that sometimes when I turn the key, its just not turning the switch side enuff to go to crank. But its just a theory at this point lol

Thats why I asked to hear others experiences. I know Civics inside and out, but this is my first Accord.... I dont know all the little things yet lol

That slipped my mind, terminals can be new but if corrosion got inside then you have other issues.

Get a volt meter and test the battery 12v lead to the 12v lead on the starter, make sure there is near no voltage drop, then have someone crank it over and note how many volts it shows. It shouldn't even be near a volt.

Also to test the switch monitor the voltage at the smaller wire at the starter to see if it gets battery voltage while cranking, if its pretty low or you get nothing when you hit the key, then its the ignition switch (or a relay if you have an aftermarket alarm...if you do then you need to back track more, if you need help with that let me know).
