This past weekend the AC on my 93 EX Coupe quit working unexpectedly while leaving my driveway. I heard the compressor kick on, car started cooling well, then it got warm suddenly.
I've determined that my compressor has finally gone bad after almost 20 years of blowing cold R12 through the lines.
So, I go to find a local Denso dealer, because that's the compressor I thought I had on my car, couldn't really see the label over the layer of dirt. I bought yesterday, thinking I'd put it on tonight, only to find out the new compressor doesn't come with any line hookups!
I'm kinda perplexed now, the new one has what looks like a plate on top with a schrader valve, held on with 4 8mm bolts. My old one doesn't have this plate?
There's nothing to swap over onto the new compressor. The lines are cast into the housing of my old compressor.
So what am I to do? Am I limited to only getting this Hadsys compressor? Because the lines look different compared to my 90 EX 4dr's compressor. Looks like these were very rare compared to the Denso.
The part number on it is RC-17S
The part number on my new Denso compressor I bought is 471-1186 and looks like this:
