    the dreaded smog... ARG!!!

it's time to smog my car again. expired registration ticket here in vegas, and I need to pass smog.

what can I do to make her pass? I know altering the timing can effect this, but i don't want to just start screwing with it w/o help.

barely failed @ idle last time. my buddy told me to run it almost empty and then put in like 10 bottles of "heet" or "heat" or w/e the stuff is called. did that, and it still failed. so I ended up paying the bootleg smog place $150 to pass it.

it seems most if not all these places are shut down now, but if anyone knows of 1 that will definitely pass my car I will compensate you for it. *wink wink*

Post your results because there are ways to tweak it to pass unless certain numbers are high.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

150 is cheap, around here it is 300 if you can find someone...

but yea post some results. running lean is better at idle. my vw runs lean at idle and cruise and passes a two speed idle flawlessly and it has a cam.
      I <3 G60.

I haven't actually gotten it smogged yet. I just know that 2 years ago it failed, and I haven't done any work to it since then, so idk why it would pass now. I thought there were things you could do to make it pass. I thought altering the timing/putting in additives/etc would help.

if I can't find a place to pass it, I guess I will just try to smog it and post the results here.

What they mean is there are different things to do if your NOX is to high, something else if your CO and HC are too high.

Here is a thread with some of what I am talking about. ww.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=188657
