    Bad auto transmission leak

Had the car parked in the driveway a couple times and just noticed that there is a HUGE puddle underneath it, as in 1 foot by 6"...at least. Jacked it up today and it is definitely leaking from the transmission, but I cannot pinpoint exactly where. I wiped off the area and it started pooling up on the bottom not even 30 seconds later. It looks like it is coming from this area here in the pictures. Any idea how to fix it? Or if it is possible to have a leak from here? Looks to be coming from where it attaches to the trans, looks like a cable? Possibly for the shifter?

    Here is the cable

And here is the puddle on the ground

    Thanks guys,

    Caleb

maybe the torque converter took a dump, after that theres a seal around at the shaft input.. youre going to have to do something, you might be able to take off the trans mount, supprt that side of the motor and crack em apart and look take a peekinside, if the leaks coming from the left the seal and probably your trans are toast and from the right the t.c. and atf will be flung around everywhere in that space

id get it up on stands, spray degreaser up there spray it off and really see where its coming from it might be something stupid like the cooler hose has a pin hole or is loose but the whole things so grungy you cant really see where it is coming from, or where its dribbling and running from

I'm pretty sure it's coming from the line/cable/whatever that thing is where it goes into the transmission. I just don't know what it is, nor if it could cause a leak. I can move it around and see fluid that is puddled around it, I just don't know how it seals up, if it even can be leaked from there. From what little I saw, it is only leaking from the rear of the trans near the axles, doesn't seem to be in the middle like an input shaft or torque converter leak. Then again, I don't know much about these cars so I could be wrong lol

The first picture, the bolt on the right, the housing looks cracked, unless that is an artifact.
Have you tried tighten the bolts around the housing? I bought my car in 2008 and it had a few drips of ATF and I tighten up the few bolts around the housing and I have not seen a drop of ATF since nor any oil.
