    Post Valve Adjustment...

After adjusting the valve clearance, it's clear I have to do it again. The motor ticks much louder then before. If anything though, the clearances are more than they used to be.

In the meantime though, the motor idles very low and feels odd at speed. Almost like the engine power is fluxuating. Any ideas?

Has new plug wires, plugs, rotor, dizzy cap, air filter, fuel filter... the works.

Before doing a full diagnostics, I would redo the valve adjustments first. Make sure all the steps were followed and the proper cylinders were adjusted at the proper position of the crank. If it's too loose, the engine will sound more like it's "slapping" while too tight will sound like a more distinctive ticking. If the valves aren't opening and closing properly, it would really affect the idle and power too.
