    Fuel Pump wont prime

    Hey guys,

Took the cb out last night, started up fine at my house. Went and grabbed a few beers and when I came out of the bar I couldnt get it to run. Just cranks over and over. Fuel pump isnt priming whatsoever. I've had this issue before but it was intermittent. I could wait a little and keep clicking to "ON" and eventually I would hear the pump kick over. I replaced my main relay about 5 months ago and the problem went away.

I tried all last night and this morning to get it going and no priming at all. Tough to believe its the main relay again since its new and I cant get anything out of it.

    Any other ideas?

Run a test light to the fuel pump harness and see if its getting power. Test light or use a multi meter.

If its not getting power, I'd look at that relay again. I have bought brand new parts that were shit a whole bunch of times. Recently an inner tie rod was brand new and almost cost me my life. Basically the brand new joint was shit from square one. Installed correctly, drove around the block and my steering was soo loose I could hardly control the car. It was worse than the original bad part. So I put the original bad part back on and in the process of pulling out the brand new inner tie rod I noticed all the grease had pushed out already and the seal was basically shot.

Drove it around the block and this happened.

So anyways, take a look at wether or not the pump is getting power. If it is getting power, maybe the pump went out. If its getting power check for fuel pressure and listen to it and see if its running or not. Its easier to hear them running from the gas fill spot.

Shouldn't be too hard to narrow down whats going on.

First step would be to see if there is power to the fuel pump relay, then power to the pump. If it has power then the pump is bad. If there is no power I would personally run a new power from the battery but my patients are low when it comes to finding wiring issues.

Thats my next step. Im at work now and I have a main relay on hold at Auto Zone. Going to grab that and a test light and head up to the car on my lunch break.

Anyone know if the main relay clicks when you turn to "on"? Mine isnt clicking at all.

        Thanks for the reply.

went out and worked on it on my lunch break. Swapped in a new main relay, nothing. Checked the fuses inside the car and the ECU fuse was blown. I put another one in there and it popped again.

So right now Ive got a popped ecu fuse and the pump not priming at all.

Any ideas to why this fuse keeps popping?
