Got ticket for Cat back exhaust

Hey guys. I just got pulled over and ticketed for too loud an exhaust. I need you to tell me if this muffler will work for my current set up.

Here is the muffler I have in mind,

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Muffler-...862084&vxp=mtr

I need that to fit the muffler end of this exhaust. Its the middle one (obviously),

Will they fit? The state trooper said I needed an OEM equivalent exhaust on my car. I live in Virginia where the exhaust laws are strict. I would much rather have the dual tipped exhaust than the single tipped one.

Any help is appreciated. I thought I was screwed when I got pulled over, every time is such an intense experience.

EDIT: ^^^ That will help some. Thats what I did with mine that was exactly like yours before I put the OBX WS2 on.

You don’t have to take that radical of a step back. You have an exhaust people tend to hate and they are loud pretty much no matter what.

If your wanting the exhaust on top due to the cost that’s one thing. But there are other options where you can still have something nice all around and not be bothered by the law.

        Like this?

I don't know if that will help though cause the laws in VA are strict, it says it must be OEM equivalent.

looks like they will, the B pipes (axle back)usually are all the same length unless theyre cheap or custom fabbed. you might even luck out and the flanges will work, youll still probably have to use the aftermarket style gasket though. Ive gotten warned twice with the N1 flatuscannon so I lopped it off and put on a 3 chamber single 2.25 inlet dual 2.25 outlet oval type. Its still loud as fuck (got another warning) even with a cat(which bolted up perfectly fine to the aftermarket stuff in place of the "test pipe" ) sometime soon im taking off the 3 chamber and just putting on a cheap turbo muffler (which i thought the 3 chamber would be like), yours is nice with the dual outlet the way it supposed to be although looks really restrictive with those straw sized outlets. =P

No thats a muffler. A resonator is before the bends. On yours it just looks like a swell in the pipe.

with my h22a swap, since the car already doesnt have any exhaust, either the oem header and DP, but more likely a tri-y and then a flange adapter, and although it wont be so "nice" weld in 2.5 mild steel from a spun cat reuse my 2.5" dia 27" L glasspack to a fat turbo muffler. you think that will be suitably quiet to avoid Jonny but still breathe

Yeah it looks like a good pipe, i'll be really happy to get that on, it'll probably save me a lot of gas (less of a temptation to floor it lol).

If you think its restrictive, look at it from another angle,

Put the two pipes together and its probably about 4.0" in diameter. They have the single tip one too but I wouldn't want that on it.

that other pic helps lol, the other suggestion i forgot while typing about myself.. is that lump in the middle pipe have a muffler shop cut out that bump and weld in a glass pack thats about as long as that whole section, I did that and had a dual DTM tip oval muffler 3aracing or some shit, when I first got it, and it helped so much i was still agressive sounding but w/o the bee's in a can raspy high pitched noises, I think thats what gets the cops attention the most is that CLACKCLACKCLACK like a friggin AK goin off

                  http://www.jegs.com/p/Cherry-Bomb/Ch...69804/10002/-1
you can get them at autozone for like 30 bucks, maybe thrush not cherry bomb, just ask about glasspacks

how much is that axle back anyway like 75 + s/h

I don’t have an H22 yet so I don’t know how creditable my opinion will be on this. But you asked so I will tell and I would say it will be plenty sufficient with you H22r swap.

I have been on here long enough to know that you have a pretty good idea on things. I think if you think it will breathe and sound reasonable then it more than likely will.

This is the route I would go.

Its easier and cheaper and if you like the look of your muffler already then you will get to keep it.

This is the one I have. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Stainles...20ffdc&vxp=mtr

And to quiet things down even more you could get a different muffler. If you like the dual tip style then there are some very nice ones out there to be had for cheap. Like this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Racing-S...f29c21&vxp=mtr

Plus that OBX muffler or one like it will look very close to stock.

Probably, trying things with this f22 stainless has been a pain and still sounds like ass, if the cheapie turbo muffler dont help then i too will probably throw in a glasspack. Ive just been holding back on hacking up the stainless. thanks though for your opinion helps me not feel so wishy washy on the matter lmao

The VA laws are strict though, even if it sounds just a little more than OEM they can pull you over. This is what the law says,

                            http://leg1.state.va.us/cgi-bin/legp...+cod+46.2-1049

§ 46.2-1049. (Effective until October 1, 2012) Exhaust system in good working order.

"No person shall drive and no owner of a vehicle shall permit or allow the operation of any such vehicle on a highway unless it is equipped with an exhaust system in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual levels of noise; provided however, that for motor vehicles, such exhaust system shall be of a type installed as standard factory equipment, or comparable to that designed for use on the particular vehicle as standard factory equipment. An exhaust system shall not be deemed to prevent excessive or unusual noise if it permits the escape of noise in excess of that permitted by the standard factory equipment exhaust system of private passenger motor vehicles or trucks of standard make."

oh snap. B pipe it is HAHA, I wouldnt dance on that line unless liking harassment, since the flatus cannon is a beacon to all bored law enforcement. They see (the OEM looking one)that and wont even notice the rest, and if they do..well too bad its a Superior replacement so that your exhaust doesnt rust out again from the sodium chloride they flood onto slick snow covered roads
