    Rear bearing replacement

This may be a dumb question, but how can I tell if my 93 ex with rear rotors has 2 or 4 wheel abs without taking things apart as it is 15 degrees outside atm... I have to do both rear wheel bearings and just don't know which ones to buy..
Also- eBay hub and bearing pair assembly's, should/will do the job won't they??

    Thanks!

    It has 4 wheel ABS.

Hell no on the Ebay bearings. Even some name brand wheel bearings arent very good.

If you get Timkens and do it right you might not ever have to replace them again. OEM Honda is expensive but its the best IMO.

Here are some threads to read through about wheel bearings. There are many more also.

      Kk thanks!

Yea I was questionable about 2 hubs and bearings or 45$ plus free shipping... I want OEM, but don't wanna pay an arm and a leg..

Are the rear rotors as hard to change out as the front? Took me forever to do front rotors and bearings...(without work bench, vice, and bearing puller...) If the rear is the same way I'm just gonna buy new rotors at the same time an do em all together!

      Thanks

You dont have to get Timkens but if you do youll be on the safe side and wont spend nearly as much as you will for OEM.

If you were to get the Ebay ones you might as well set your $45 on fire and smash your self in the nuts. And your car will be right where it is now.

The rear rotors are not as hard to change. I havent ever done a rear wheel bearing but I have replaced the rotors. They have the flush phillips srews that can be a royal bitch. If you doing bearings the rotors will be cake.

EDIT: And I forgot, don’t get the Precisions either.

What brand bearings do you recommend?

Others I would guess as being good but haven’t tried are:

                Beck Arnley $54ea. Front
                NSK $54ea. Front
                Timkens $34ea. Front

These can be found here: http://www.*********.com/catalog/199...l_bearing.html

                And here: http://www.*********.com/catalog/199..._assembly.html

If doing the rear I would recommend getting the whole bearing and hub assembly. For the rear I would recommend the following:

                Koyo $100ea. Rear drums
                Beck Arnley $93ea. Rear drums
Timken $81ea. for drums $77ea. for discs

Those can be found here: http://www.*********.com/catalog/199..._assembly.html

I thought you had some other brand in your mind.

Do you know who supplies wheel bearings (OEM) to Honda?

I have had good luck with Moog over the years, though recently I bought some bearings that where actually repackaged "National" brand. Not really sure, used them and haven't had any issues there either.

If you have done the front you'll be just fine getting through the rear.

For the parts I replaced on cars, Moog and Beck are good to me as far as I can remember.

It's not that I doubted it but I hate reading posts on forums based on ill-informed, ill-founded or home brew theories.

                            Thank you for the info.
