Stripped exhaust stud from Header

What did you use to trim the hols? I'm getting some copper rtv to put on it, thank you very much

Wire cutters seemed to work best. I wouldn't use RTV to SEAL the gasket, just use a couple dabs to hold it in place while you tighten the bolts.

edit. Were you asking if the gasket was solid metal? If you are, no it's not.

How did you use wire cutters to cut it?

Yeah I was wondering if it was solid metal but its not huh, well it must be way better than the graphite ones. I wonder what its made of.

When you say graphite, are you talking about the cheap ones that come with the cheap eBay headers? Like so?

Hows yours been holding up, are you sure its leak proof and works as it should? The gasket I found looks like a better match to me. Even so, I think I trust what you got so I ordered one to pick up at Advance.

That gasket I showed was only 5$ with free shipping, its made with all metal, its not composite. I may order one anyways just cause its so cheap.

All metal gasket, it better have holes perfectly lined up with studs, other wise you'll have hard time enlarging holes just to install. If the holes for exhaust don't line up, it will be a restriction, as well.

Will do. I found I pic of the exhaust manifold for the gasket, looks like the gasket may fit,

Glory to God, glad its working for you. I'll let you know if this metal gasket fits. If it does, then it means we have found an all metal gasket for our aftermarket headers.

I just got the Subaru gasket and it looks like I won't have to enlarge any holes, I have a stud and it fits in the two smaller holes. Wasn't the small size of the holes the reason you said you needed to enlarge them or was it because of fitment and placement? Please answer back, I need to know if I still need to modify the holes.

just try fitting it to your header, not all generic headers are built the same.

My cheap gasket blew out a while ago and I just went and picked up a sheet of exhaust gasket material and cut out my own gasket using the old blown out one as a pattern. No leaks so far. And I have lots of material to spare if I ever need it again!
