    New Fuel Pump Car Dies

So H311RA151N and I replace my old fuel pump with a denso one and used the old strainer from the old fuel pump. now if i step on the brakes a bit harder than normal the car will die when it comes to a stop. yet it revs just fine we had to use a rubber grommet to get the old sock on because it was to big

H311RA151N fell free to add you .02 if i left anything out

What you just texted me is the solution.

The old pump was an Airtex BTW. I found some pics. The Denso pump goes in a bit different evidently.

Here is the gasket that I suggest you get. It really doesn’t matter what brand just as long as you get a new one.

Enlarge the pic of the Denso strainer. It has a lot smaller hole. That will solve the sock fitment issue.

Its pretty cool you can change the fuel pump in less than half an hour now! And the hole turned out really clean except for that one edge that needs to be cut still.

And I have some 16 gauge sheet metal for the hole.
