Stripped Rear Passenger Door Jamb Screw!!

Stripped Rear Passenger Door Jamb Screw!!

Need help how to remove the screw and its getting me aggravated. I've replaced all 3 Door Jamb Sensors with no problem. The last one decide not to even budge manually, so then I use my power drill and completely destroyed the Phillips shape.

drilling it would be your last alternative. try holding a phillips bit in whats left, and tapping on the end of it.

So basically drill right through the screw until the screw is gone?

no, you just want to drill the head of it off, so the shaft will still be in there. remove your sensor. and grab the shaft with vise grips and turn. start off with a small drill bit, the move up to the size of the threads. grab one of your other screws to determine the size you'll want. hope it works

spray some PB blaster etc on it, cut a slot in it with a dremel, get a big fat standard screwdriver line it up in the notch, a couple love bumps with a hammer and itll come right out..

So far fail on everything I tried, my neighbor has a screw extraction kit. But I think that screw is completely stuck in there. It doesn't budge at all...

If you can't drill through it try another bit, those screws aren't titanium or anything. A good bit should break that screw head off. You can cut the slit in the head as mentioned, I just didn't think you'd be able to get access to it to do that, but it is a great idea.

I used a drill but the screw extraction kit was not grabbing and my neighbor is a carpenter and couldn't get it out by drilling. So we broke completely the sensor off and almost lost an eye LOL. Anyway we ended making up clearance by breaking the old sensor off and used a big flat nose pliers and manually twisted it off with no issues.
