    Repair help with coolant

I was driving and my needle went to C the gauge works, any idea why it would be at C when just a while ago it was at medium?

air in the coolant system? IIRC i think when there is just air around the temp sensor it will not sense the correct temp.

it sorta read it when I turn the engine off and throw the key into the ON postition.

I think maybe the gauge might have messed up. Hope its not serious.

Check the wiring leading to the sensor also! An open or grounding wire somewhere will give you either full hot or full cold readings

I think it has something to do with the battery cause now the battery light is on and the Heat gauge is working accordingly

Then check the voltage at the battery. Also check your battery terminals and body grounds. Awhile ago my alt plug would fall out during hard driving, and when the voltage got low enough, most of my gauges would work intermittently.

The plug clip got broken, so during hard driving the vibrations would allow the plug to fall out. Issue is now fixed, zip ties, FTMFW!

It's the housing on the alt that's actually broke, the socket that the plug goes into.

not sure how the thread when OT but shit keep the forum alive!

any way bros i found out that the mech that put my clutch in (what an ass hole returned my car with out motor oil) did not replace my antifreeze instead he used water thats why it drops under optional temps while on the HWY and normal temp idle. plus its winter. (fucker didn't purge my coolant system either)
