    whinning sound from brakebooster.

been awhile but i have an issue. getting a whin sounde from inside the engine bay. does it in the mornings when i drop of my son at school after i make a u-turn and i have traveled about a mile, sounds like the master cylinder has a duck getting strangled. i knows it not the brakes and the braking is very well and the pedal is not mossy. it hard to dupilcate the sound

I had a cat trapped in the engine compartment in a Buick back in mid 80's.

If you could post a vid on Youtube, that would certainly help.

      Was the cat ok?

Sounds like a vacuum problem. A vid would help a lot

Have you checked your power steering fluid levels. You mentioned it happens when you're making a u-turn. If you're low on ps fluid it will make squealing sounds when you turn the wheel. Sometimes even the slightest movement of the steering wheel will cause it to chirp.

Yeah, I made a pot of cat soup and it was OK.

          Just kidding,,,,,.

Yes, the cat was saved before I got out of the parking spot.

ok found what it was. its been driving me crazy, was the fan. the fan blade has small play enough to over power the sound of the engine and come in crystal clear inside the car. god i hated it. slowing down made it spin right at that point where it was sound like crap. made my car feel cheap and didnt want to stop next to people lol.so lookjng on hitting up a local guy parting his car since i manage to finally duplicate the sound when the fan time kick on and right before the it stops spining.

the whine it was making was nothing like sound the timing belt makes when the auto tensionor makes when it fails. i had this happen so i could tell it apart.

as for the the whole uturn part i have no power steering pump as it got removed.im using a prelude radiator thats much lighter and thinner but the mount points arent perfect and that one fan has been moving around. so on the next one ill weld the two fan shrouds together so the fan wont have that play in the blade.
