    Starter issues

I have had some random times over the past couple weeks where my car wouldn't start. I recently had a bad battery so I thought that might be some of my troubles.
Well it just happened again. I have narrowed it down to the starter. I jumped the clutch switch, still no start.
Then I tapped on the starter. It started.
So my question is has anybody replaced the solenoid or does everybody just replace the starter? Or visit the JY?
also this seems to happen the most when I don't let the car cool down. IE I drive it somewhere and then 30 min later get in and drive again. So my guess is it has something to do with the heat.

I had my starter rebuilt before on my 90 exr (RIP) and it's easy as cake to remove and install again.
