Generally, most people get their TB bored to allow more air in the IM. Why would you spend money on just P&P? I think the gains would be minimal. I recommend getting it bored out. Is $85.00 good? Sounds a bit HIGH to me.

I'd say anywhere from $100.00-$200.00. There is a guy, named jorge, from www.maxbore.com, I got my TB done from him. He charges $100.00 and does great work (awesome customer service as well).

how hard is the install? and how much will it cost to get an extra tb? (can't afford down time)

An overbored throttle body is good if your IM is capable of flowing more air downstream. If no work has been done to your IM, then it is a waste of money and can acutally hurt off idle performance. The throttle body comes proportionately sized from the factory for the IM that is paired with.

                    I disagree...

A 2mm overbore will help with throttle response regardless of any work to the manifold...you will notice the results...

ie:you will reach higher rpms more quickly.

You can disagree if you'd like, however I urge you to consult : The High Perfomance Honda Builder's Handbook by: Joe Pettitt . In his book he clearly states what I had mentioned and gives a more detailed explination.

Well... that's all fine and good... but rather than consulting a guidebook and other people's opinions.. I am going from first hand knowledge on this one... I noticed a felt increase in throttle response and the engine would rev through the rpm range much more quickly when I put on nothing but a JG 2mm overbored TB years ago...

I remember it vividly because I listened to all the naysayers telling me that I would not feel much of a gain and it would contribute to idle and low rpm/torque problems... and I was very pleasantly surprised when I experienced none of those things and actually felt a decent performance gain...

In fact it reminds me of all the people relaying their secondhand expertise when it comes to things like lightened flywheels and slotted rotors...

In fact... I'm a bit surprised that with your reputation you are deferring to a generic guidebook on this one and have done no actual testing in this arena...

its like people saying 8.5 lb flywheels suck when obisouly i proved them wrong twice, on the dyno and on the track.. for me a ziggy

I have noticed considerable gains in power and response when i had my race cb7, i had a bored and tapered throttle body from JG and i noticed unbelievable gains. and yeah a handbook? whats the deal
