I'm getting ready to swap a jdm h22a into my 90 coupe and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the knock sensor is one wire or two. The engine is a little drive from where I am and I'm trying to best prepare myself to do the wiring. If it is two wire which one would be the ground and also are they a constant voltage or grounded and the ecu supplys the voltage? I already know the vtec solenoid is one wire I saw that in a pic I have. Also forgot to mention it's a jdm p13 not usdm. I already have my harness pinned with a 4 wire connector to the proper pins and my engine didn't come with the vac box and solenoid so I had to find one and I didn't get the connector with it so it's gonna have to be trial and error on the IABs. No Vtec oil pressure switch as well the jdm ecu I have doesn't look for one.

The knock sensor wire is one wire only.
The IABs won't be a problem at all. If the engine doesn't come with a harness then just go nab a connector from one at the junkyard and add it to the harness with the engine out of the car.
The JDM VTEC solenoid is only 1-wire so you should only need to add that one wire you've seen to your harness and you'll be good.
If it wasn't clear already adapt your harness to the H22A instead of the H22A engine harness to your harness in the engine bay. It will be much easier that way.My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

Yeah thats what I plan on doing, already have the harness pinned with wires and in the car with a 4 pin O2 style connector.
Thanks for the info on the knock sensor, one less thing to worry about :P Any way to tell looking at the solenoid to tell which wire should be hooked to the wire from the ecu and which should be grounded?Last edited by 1990exr; 10-27-2012, 08:45 PM.My work in progress!
