    transmission fill bolt stuck

Whats up guys. Man has it been a long day. Anyway, I was going to change my tranny fluid today, but that didn't happen. The fill bolt will not come out for anything. I tried pb blaster and also heating it up with no luck. Plus Honda made it to where you can't fit a ratchet on it because there a big ass mount in the way. So if someone knows of another place I could add fluid to id appreciate it. I believe I read somewhere that you can fill it through the reverse sensor hole on the top of the tranny but id like to verify that too. Again, thanks.

Which car are you asking about? For a CB, you got a drain bolt and you have to jack the front passenger's side up to get a clear look at that drain bolt. You'll need a 3/8" ratchet to take it off. Turn the bolt toward the rear of the car to loosen it. There's no filling bolt that I am aware of. You take the tranny dip stick out and put a long funnel down and fill it.
Is your car an auto or manual?

Manual cb's don't have a dipstick. There's a fill bolt bolt right above the drain plug.

Just to make sure, fill bolt has a 17mm head on it, is @ the 9 o'clock position directly behind the axle, whereas the drain bolt is @ 6 o'clock. How much leverage can you get on it? Have you tried a long breaker bar?

Yes that's all correct. And no, since I can't fit a racket and socket in there, I was using a fairly long box end wrench. I thought about a breaker bar but I couldn't find anything that would fit over the other end of the wrench.

It's keyed specifically for a ratchet. How can you not fit it in there?

There's a big ass mount that goes to what I think was the lower portion of the knuckle. Its right next to the bolt. A socket will fit fine, but there's not enough room for the ratchet.

EDIT: I believe you're thinking about the drain bolt which is made for a 3/8th drive ratchet. Im talking about the 17mm fill bolt.

Can you do something like this to extend the length of your wrench? What's pictured in the link wasn't my original thought. If I have a huge box end wrench, I would put that over the end of the 17, but that would have to be a pretty big box end wrench. Or maybe a pipe over the end of the 17? Or if it's a beater wrench, cut the open end off so it's straight, then use a wrench or a pipe/tube @ the end.

You're right. I think one of the posts above mine confused me.

you can fill oil through the speed sensor in the back or through the back up sensor in the front of the tranny on top (easiest) Thats what i always do since I can't exactly fit a quart of MTF in that area where the fill bolt's located.
