    Battery light

Whats up everyone I hit up advance auto to get a battery test because sometimes when I start my car the battery light will flicker it has never been a solid light. After the results it said this...
    • Battery good
    • Starter good
    • But the advance guy said the NO LOAD should be equal with the LOADED

He suggested that it has to be my alternator going bad anyone else have any imput on this? Also my car starts fine and quick theres no delay when starting her up. I dont have no music system in the vechile ethier everything is stock accept the short ram underneath the hood.

Check that the large green plug is fully snapped in on the passenger side of the alternator.

Both loaded and unloaded are too low. It should be above 14V. I think your voltage regulator or the brush is worn out. Just go the junkyard to find a regulator and Ebay has the brush kit. You don't even need to dismount the alternator to replace them. Other than that the new ones are refurbs and they just clean and replace the brushes. For all you know that so call new alternator could have well over 500,000 miles on it and the diodes are going to be weak.

Cables might need to be changed. Also a loose nut on the alt can cause it to loose some power.
