Overheating while Idling?

If the fans work with the car off but not on, then either the thermoswitch/s are faulty, or the fan control relay.

If the fans don't turn on with the A/C - Have you checked the fuses, and the motors?

I've checked all fuses under the fuse box under the hood. The fans work, cause me and a friend hooked up power to both of them.

possible blown head gasket . do you go through a lot of coolant ? does white smoke ( steam) always come out of your exhaust ? doe's the exhaust smell like antifreeze ? do you have milky oil ? when you pop the cap to the rad doe's it have a silky brown substance ?

Coolant levels are fine. No white smoke at all. I have never smelt antifreeze from my car. No milky oil (changed every 3k.)

I had the same issue, turned out to be a faulty temp sensor. I had to use a jumper wire to keep the fans running all the time till i got my new temp sensor.

bingo...the after run switch is the sensor connected to the uper rad hose. i put a lower temp fan switch to run the fan after it is shut off to cool down the engine bay.
