    my accord is broken!

ok, so i got back from my thanksgiving break and tried to start my car.

the car hadnt been driven for 4 days. for the past 6 months or so, it needed an extra bit of cranking the ignition for it to start.

so, i start the car, it cranks, and the car starts. then it dies.
i tried 3 or 4 times but the same thing happens, whether i give it a bit of gas or not. i hear that giving it gas should make no difference, but i suppose thats another matter.

check engine light does not come on. battery is new.

and i am mechanically retarded. maybe i should check all the plugs/lines? its late right now though.

heh whats wrong with my car

when u start it, does it sound like its low on battery? like its hella stressin?

check ur battery connections, both positive and negitive and see if its loose or not....

when u turn the key so that all the accesories come on, do u hear a click when the check engine light comes on?

    check distribitor/rotor/sparks...

if it dies it can lie in the distribitor....maybe moisture in there..u know what, i just had this problem...

    1. loose or faulty electrical connections at distribitor, coil or alternator

    2. insufficient fuel reaching the injectors

    3. vacumn leak at gasket between intake manifold and throttle body.

thats what my book said...and i think my problem was loose spark plugs
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

i think the battery is fine, i will double check it though.
      battery seems like its good.

i do hear a click with the accessory power.

do you think it has anything to do with the fact that its parked on a hill?

someone back me up on this, but if u hear a click when u put accesories on and the click comes on when the check engine light turns on, ur main relay is fine.

there is a DIY in the DIY forum bro if u wanna check it out...what else u checked out...

hehe i see that ur on honda society as well...they are saying relay too...iono i know if i hear a click the relay is good and the car will start...u can test this if u want.

go under the car and then find the relay..put ur finger on it and turn on accesory...and then u will hear and feel a click on the relay..that means thats good...

yet i could be wrong, fizz will most likely correct me.

              have u checked ur rotor/distribitor?

well took it to a shop, left it there overnight and the mechanic calls me and says that my car's starting up fine.

so, i really dont know whats going on. he thinks the fuel pump or the electronic modular might be bad, but since nothing seemed to be wrong at the time, i just picked my car up.

yeah the main relay is a big problem for us Cb lovers, but i know i have rerlay problems when i drive my car very short diustances and turn it off for a short time then try to start it. ie: from my house to the gas station then it wont start for like 10 minutes lol)

and i find this happens mostly in warm weather. to me it sounds like your problem is fuel related

i was driving along today and the check engine light came on.
i pulled over and looked under the hood.
                    the engine was still there...
                    ...silly light!
