    Aftermarket Header Studs.

Does anyone know if the studs that come with the Ebay header has the same pitch and dimensions as Honda OEM studs (the stud from the header to flex pipe)?

You can either use a stock stud or just use a bolt instead. That's what I do. Since you still have 2 other studs, lining it up right shouldn't be an issue

I was thinking about doing that as well. That's why I was asking.

I would use a M10 x 35 to screw in from the top of the header, and then use the corresponding nut on the bottom side of the DP with a washer.

I just made a custom header gasket for the header to DP because I'm tired of gaskets blowing. If this doesn't work, I'll just go get the Subaru gaskets.

I used the exhaust gasket maker sheets which I wrapped in aluminum food tray lids, and I sealed the inside perimeter with RTV copper silicon. Hopefully this works.

Here she is. She'll be trimmed tomorrow before installation, and the addition of all holes will be put in as well. The other one for the DP to cat is curing as we speak. It came out to be 2.51 mm thick, and it's 150 mm x 100 mm. It'll be cut to the shape o the mounting flange with a little overhang. After I tighten down the nuts, she should hold up fine.

yeah you can opt for the subaru gasket or the copper gasket at summit racing. i used that for a long time until i got the hytech replica header which didnt need the gasket. you just have to trim the hoe for the bolts to fit through them.

So for the bolts do you need a certain thread? Is that what the M10 means? My dc sports header doesn't have threads on the part that bolts up to the down pipe. does the down pipe have threads? I haven't been able to take off my header yet.

he's talking about the studs on the upper half of the header the goes through the holes on the downpipe part that you bolt a nut onto. no header/downpipe combo ive ever seen comes with a threaded part on the downpipe.

Ok cool thats what I was thinking like Why would the down pipe be threaded if the header isn't. Just wanted to make sure.

Would using red lock tight on new bolts be a good idea?

That's always a good idea for just about every bolt.

                      I like Permatex thread lock.

i honestly dont think the header bolts would really need to be thread locked because if you thighten them enough you should be set. only time i would do something like that is if you have 95a solid mounts like i do and you have massive vibrations through out your car. other wise they should be fine, now important bolts like the ones for the intake manifold and halfshaft as ive had many problems with those ones backing out on me.

Put the bolt in the other way. Find one that has the same thread as the top half of the header. Then you don't need a nut

GReddy sells metal header gaskets that are extremely tough/durable, you can reuse them multiple times and they'll still seal. They're not like those shitty Megan or Ebay ones. Its only 8 bucks, I think that's worth it rather then spending all that time fabbing one up. Plus this will be the right fit as well and will slide onto those studs no problem.
