I was thinking about doing that as well. That's why I was asking.
I would use a M10 x 35 to screw in from the top of the header, and then use the corresponding nut on the bottom side of the DP with a washer.
I just made a custom header gasket for the header to DP because I'm tired of gaskets blowing. If this doesn't work, I'll just go get the Subaru gaskets.
I used the exhaust gasket maker sheets which I wrapped in aluminum food tray lids, and I sealed the inside perimeter with RTV copper silicon. Hopefully this works. The Lord watches over me!

Here she is. She'll be trimmed tomorrow before installation, and the addition of all holes will be put in as well. The other one for the DP to cat is curing as we speak. It came out to be 2.51 mm thick, and it's 150 mm x 100 mm. It'll be cut to the shape o the mounting flange with a little overhang. After I tighten down the nuts, she should hold up fine.

So for the bolts do you need a certain thread? Is that what the M10 means? My dc sports header doesn't have threads on the part that bolts up to the down pipe. does the down pipe have threads? I haven't been able to take off my header yet.

Ok cool thats what I was thinking like Why would the down pipe be threaded if the header isn't. Just wanted to make sure.
Would using red lock tight on new bolts be a good idea?

GReddy sells metal header gaskets that are extremely tough/durable, you can reuse them multiple times and they'll still seal. They're not like those shitty Megan or Ebay ones. Its only 8 bucks, I think that's worth it rather then spending all that time fabbing one up. Plus this will be the right fit as well and will slide onto those studs no problem.
