I tried the egr valve test and i couldnt stall out the car it would bog real low but not stall, i tried two egr vavles and same thing with both

then your still clog and need to do a full system clean . wed3k nows more about the egr system than i do .

have you checked that red hose i told you to check.

there could be enough that you would need to take off the intake . i did when i first got my car . but first try to pull codes.

dude be for you do try and pull the codes . this can save hundreds or even thousends of dollars depinding on the problem .



if your not going to pull the codes then at least try this.
There are a few reasons the vehicle could be running rich.
One could be an ignition system problem, so make sure the plugs are good, the distributor cap and rotor are new.
If the "tune up" parts are okay suspect either an engine coolant temperature sensor or fuel pressure regulator.

If possible install a fuel gauge to the fuel system and check for excessive fuel pressure. 38psi is max. If fuel pressure is high, or fuel pressure will bleed off when the engine is turned off, replace the fuel pressure regulator.


As far as checking the engine coolant temperature sensor, Monitor the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor voltage on the Yellow/Green wire, the voltage should be around 2.5 volts at 70 degrees and 0.5 volts at operating temperature. Verify the voltage does not jump high when the problem occurs. If it does suspect a faulty ECT sensor.

you mean the fuel vapor red hose that goes to the charcoal canister ?! sorry don't want to hijack this thread ... but mine is cut, I bought the car like this, I have no oil problem like him though, should I put a new one red hose ...why do they cut it and what are the benefits of putting a new one.

there is no benefits . If it is cut replace it .

manually Clean your egr ports. Clogged egr ports can cause a misfire (And a definite rise in Nox) and then results in your co going up.

That shop you took it to knows shit about smog.

You can disconnect the vac line to the egr, if it doesnt miss fire then you know where the issue is.
