    Crankshaft end play?

Hi. I was putting these thrust washers for my crankshaft on and installed the main caps when noticed that the crankshaft moves a very tiny distance when I move it back and forth, like from the sides (both timing side and torque side)... Is it supposed to move at all?

I imagine it is but i want to make sure that I don't have anything wrong with my crankshaft.

    Thanks.

Yes, there is supposed to be a small amount of end play. The manual would have the allowable movement specs.

all of this is specified in a workshop manual. id suggest getting one and reading up on how an engine goes together otherwise you could forget some important things.
