Gas pedal shakes at about 5k rpm's??

So today on the highway, a guy in a corvette pulled up to me and he started talking to me(damn light was letting everyone go but us!!!) He asked how i liked my honda and what i was lowered on, small talk. Then towards the end of the convo he jockingly asked if i wanted to race for pinks so when the light finally turned green we took off(ill let you guys figure how that went.

ANYWAYS this was the first time i have ever tried to revv up this car and it was a little weird. Going into 3rd gear i believe i decided to try and redline(i used to do it often in my old auto coupe) but when i got to around 5k rpm's the gas pedal began to shake so i just shifted up but i found that kinda weird.

Whats going on?? That never used to happen in my old coupe. It kinda felt like i wasnt going anywhere when i hit 5k or something. Idk im just confused but that may just be my imagination. Any comments or concerns are appreciated

Strange, the only thing hooked to your pedal is the throttle cable and CC cable, if you have it. I've never ran across this.

Yeah i have CC. Idk it was weird. I just went out again to try n see if it was a 1 time thing but it did it again. However i dont hear or feel a knock in the engine. Guess i just wont revv that high..? It worries me, more the reason to try n get a new motor soon!

Are you talking a side to side shake, or a front to back shake? And is it just the gas pedal?

Well I don't know if this will help.
I have an auto and I have tried a brake launch once or twice.
Basically put my left foot on the brake and rev it up, when I get into higher RPM's and the car isn't moving the engine shakes a lot. Mainly because all that power and movement is being stuck in the transmission or some part and has no where to go because I'm holding the brake thus shaking.

Its a front to back shake. Like the gas pedal shook in the way it moves normally just that it was a swift shake

Hmm, well i only revved to like 3k when i launched then shifted, it shook when i was going into 3rd so the power shouldnt be trapped anywhere..?

The only pedals that would shake would be either the brake pedal or clutch pedal. Both of those are hooked up to master cylinders. The gas pedal only has a cable attached to it.

Maybe its something else? Does your throttle body open/close properly?
