ran it to a problem.how do i keep the engine from turning while i torque down the harmonic balancer nut

You don't have the Honda crank key? How did you break is loose in the first place?

Is the engine in or out of the car? If its in the car, put it in gear and only Jack up the drivers side. That's how I torqued mine down. Or if your mobile, go rent a key from a parts store. I know o reilly's is a 50 deposit.

Only other way i know is to take a small pry bar and wedge it on the flywheel where the timing window is. But I can't safely say the teeth can handle 159 ft/lbs, so hold off on that idea.

on my DA9 I put the transmission in 5th gear ( manual trans of course ) to tighten and loosen the crank bolt. you would figure Reverse would be better for install but 5th worked better in my case.

having trouble with this bolt that has a hole threw it got my belt on but dont know wich way to tighten it

Ok, wtf is there instead of your auto tensioner? It looks like your mechanic just stuck something there to keep tension. Maybe that shredded your timing belt?
