Blox 70mm TB on Skunk2 Intake Manifold

I just picked up a Blox 70mm Billet TB for pretty cheap. I just need to get a gasket for it and I was going to put it on my Skunk2 IM.

Does anyone know the measurements of the Skunk2 Opening for the H22? I'm thinking its not as big as the Blox TB, would that hurt me a huge bit?

I just plan on putting the TB on for now since I don't have the time to remove the intake and get it ported yet.

I would still make power over the stock TB right? Only thing looks like it deletes the FIV and there doesn't seem to be an idle adjust screw so I'm kinda worried that it'll give me a shitty idle.

IDK, what are you guy's thoughts on this?

Personally I don't know if increasing the size of the TB will help all that much on the performance side unless your engine has a lot of work done to flow more air. I always thought unless you are pushing serious power or forced induction then you can only increase the air intake so much before its just wasting money.

Now the fact that the intake manifold is smaller than the throttle body then you essentially are not increasing the air flow as the intake manifold will only allow "X' amount in at once. You might be able to get a local machine shop to port match them for you, but it may be a bad dollar to horsepower ratio.

Those are my thoughts. Sorry if they're not the most inspiring.

Your car is pretty badass looking, I must say.

I believe the taper on the S2 Manifold is 68mm. I can meansure mine when I take it off to add the Bisimoto Intake Manifold Gasket this weekend. I have a 70mm BBK TB attached to mine and I didn't notice much of a difference. But like Burton said you have to be either boosted, or your head flowing a decent amount to really make some power off of a TB. Otherwise I've heard the gains can be anywhere to 2whp-5whp. Gains can be spreadout around the powerband so the butt dyno won't see much.

Yeah this TB only cost me 75 bucks so not a lot at all. I was reading on Blox's website that an old/worn out TPS can also cause a loss in power, luckily this came with a brand new one, guy already calibrated it as well.

Well I do have this Turbonetics Turbo I was planning on putting on, but I gotta figure out the specs of it though still. Just bought the H22 with it like that.

Does the blox throttle body taper at all?
Any chance we can get some pics to see the quality of this piece?

yeah it tapers from 72~73mm to 70mm at the inside point. Its a nice billet aluminum construction. I'll take pics when i get home

I plan on using my Prelude AEM CAI which is right at 2.75" so that should match up perfectly with it.

H22 Skunk2 manifold is 66mm (the older one is 65mm) throttle body opening but can be port-matched up to 75mm

yeah I took the TB off, it was too much hassle, car couldn't idle right with it on.
