Luckily Honda made is so you can only install the distributor one way as the keyway is offset by a bit, so unless your pouring oil from that area I'd say it's installed correctly. I'm telling you take your timing belt off set cam tdc then just to be ppositive remove the crank pulley bolt and take notice as to where the keyway is oriented it should be straight up just like ur cam, as for the balance shafts just leave the belt off, 10 lbs of pointless metel not needing to rotate and the cunthair more of vibration u will get isn't much.

Dont mean to sound like a dick but it's almost fool proof it only slides all the way in nicely even with a new o ring. If u have to force it and or draw it in with the 12 mms then it's wrong, simply look at it, the offset is noticeable on both the distributor and cam. It's like putting the ignition key from a chevy in the trunk yeah it sorta fits but won't work that's why they made a trunk/door key. Actually it just took them forever to grasp a "single" key concept.
