    Flywheel TDC Marks

i see 4 different marks through the bell housing.

    3 marks group together

    and a single mark.

i assume the single is TDC? and the other 3 is +& - from true timing?
RIP 4/23/12...lets not forget, the 88" Z31 turbo, are my dailys

I'm guessing you are using a oem flywheel?

I have a Fidanza, and from what I was told they do not have timing marks. Its stupid as hell not 2 have them on any flywheel. I kno my timing is slighty off, and I have no true way of finding out what's what, unlss I have a chipped ecu and the tuner can TuNe and set it thru the computer

OEM or aftermarket doesn't matter, His first statement said "i see 4 different marks through the bell housing"
          So he can see them.

Btw you don't need a chipped ecu, you just need to use an adjustable timing light.

I know they don't, I just don't see how it was relevant.

Eitherway, you can still put your own marks on it.

yes i am using an oem flywheel.

i should of asked this question before i reassembled my motor,

but i noticed the TDC mark on my flywheel does not line up with

the balance belt pulley on the crankshaft.

the balance belt pulley "up" arrow is more pointed to 2 o'clock.

which markings should i go by? i guess i could take the head back off

to see the pistons but that would be, poop. what to do......?

I would be more inclined to say your balance belt timing is out.

If you really want to check it, you need to check the cambelt pulley against the block.

the gear behind the balance belt pulley?
