    Water leaking into the cabin

I've noticed that whenever it rains (compressor is off) I start to see some water dripping onto the passenger floor board directly under the right hand side of the glove box.

Where my fingers are seems to be where it drips from. I've lifted the carpet, but felt no wetness. Water only seems to drip onto the top of the carpet.

    Suggestions?

One time on my dads cb7 the drain for the ac got kinked and it would flood.

Running the compressor (a/c) does not produce the water.

I don't have time to sign up and search another site, do you remember the general consensus?

I'm thinking the rain gutters on the roof need to be looked at above the top of the windshield.

windshield seals seated correctly? i had a 97 crv that would leak all the way through to the glovebox, but left no trace of evidence on the windshield, it ran down the sides.

Yes sir I do. I thought maybe the front right drain got clogged up, but wouldn't it drip from the sunroof area?

The windshield is the original one I think, or at least it looks like it.

it would make sense that if you had a leak in the sunroof it would leak there... I was just curious. Do you know how to take the glove box out? It's pretty easy, I would do that just to see if you find anything else

I had a leak in almost the exact same spot twice and it was my windshield. In the first case, the company that installed my window had a batch of bad sealant and I fell in that window of time they used it. (replaced for free) The second time, i was sitting at a stop light, light turned green and the car behind me jumped at the green and hit me at 5mph. Put a couple dings in my bumper and (as i can figure it out) torqued my car enough from the impact it popped the sealant loose on that windshield.

You say you think it is the original windshield, but you can tell you are not for sure. You might want to get it looked at. Since our cars are so old, it is likely it has been replaced IMO.

my dad had Safelite come out to do a windshield in his ford cargo van.

we found water pouring into the floorboard weekly

came to find out that they took all the old silicon and sealant bits and discarded them right into the drain that sits under the wipers. douchewads.

has this happened in dry situations? if not you're prolly looking at windshield or sunroof

Yeah I can remove the glovebox in less than 5 mins.

My guess was a windshield, but judging from the faded sunstrip up top and overall condition of it, I think it is the original.

I had the cowl off a few months back to replace the wiper linkages, but nothing looked clogged up. A little dirty, but nothing major.

If the windshield was leaking, wouldn't it run down the A-pillars and end up coming up from beneath the carpet? Mine drips from above the carpet coming from the right hand side of the glovebox area.

I found this thread http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...216#post756216 mentioning the rain gutters and a hole above the windshield. I looked at mine and found the driver side black strip to be tight against the windshield, but the passenger side one is about .25" or so away from the windshield trim.

This is still occuring! I just checked the passenger side sunroof drain hole and it drains just fine. I noticed that when I brake or turn right, more water drips out from that same spot.

A new windshield runs about $200, but I don't want to spend that kind of money and that end up not being the issue.

                        Ideas??

To be honest this happened to me as well, but I never diagnosed it.

Mine happend when it was dry out though, so idk what it could have been.

But I do know that there is a drain for the a/c under the car...

if that tube is kinked or blocked maybe its backing up?

This only happens when it rains and it doesn't matter if the a/c is on or off. I do know the a/c drain seems to be working OK as when I run the air I see water underneath.

My only guess is a windshield now ?

If you look at the top of the windshield from the outside on the passenger side, you can see where it looks like it's separating inside the glass. It looks similiar to window tint pealing off kind of.
