    Clutch going out or something else???

    under normal driving conditions i never have any problems. but more recently, whenever im flooring it and shift 1-2 at redline, it feels like its locking me out of 2nd. i dont hear a grind, but i feel the vibration in the shifter like its trying to get in gear, but wont. as im holding the clutch in(all the way to the floor)... and the rpm's drop down to like 5-6k, then it slides in gear.

    i have a act heavy duty plate and street disk. its been two years about... is it just time for a new clutch?

    are there any "while shifting" symptoms that the clutch is going bad? before when i had a bad synchro, it was the every popular 3rd gear grind. but it would grind bad... and only get worse the higher up i shifted. but i dont get a sound with the 1-2... it just wont slide in. synchro's for sure though???

      should i just get new ones then? with this solve the problem or just hold it off for a while. i was looking around and found gearspeed. they sell a full 1-5 set of carbon coated synchros for $215.

      ny other companies out there i shoud look into?

        no idea, i never do it... shouldnt have to. and i definetly dont wanna go around double clutching. too much of a hassle. id rather replace the synchros

          i was thinking that too. but there are no gaurantees that THAT tranny will be good. this one was used and look what happened. i mean, i have friends that own a shop, so ill get hooked up on labor... not free of course, but cheap.

          btw... SHIT!!!! i took my camera out with me just now trying to get a vid of it happening. but it shifted ok this time. i never jam the gears like you can with a hydro tranny, cause its notchy by nature... but i shifted at 8 and it drops to about 5500. i ripped it down the street 3 times and it was fine. wtf!?!??!

            k will do. thanks for the input. on a side note, i think i over fucked my 3rd gear. for a while it would grind if i shifted over 5, then it got so bad it made a full rotation back to good. now it only does it if im running hard and shifting over 6-7k. and on that pointless tidbit of info, i shall go... time to eat.

              drove too much at the meet

              but yea, i miss shifted two times at the meet (you can hear one in the cruise vid that i posted)

              but its hard to shift into gear now.

              oh well, next is brakes and then a new clutch and tranny swap.
