Ok, so I know I promised pictures and I have some, but the more pressing concern is that after I covered the fuse box, alternator, distributor, and air filter, I used gunk and then using a water hose, sprayed down the engine bay. I let it dry while doing Insanity, a little over an hour. I just went out to start up the engine so I could find the cause of the leaks, and all I got was an odd click sound, like *click click click click click* at a rapid pace. Can someone please tell me what happened?

That would be your starter. It may not be getting enough power (check ya battery connections and voltage) or it has a loose connection, or it decided to die on ya.

That starter is 2 days old, if it decided to die on me, I am going to be quite perturbed. It could be my battery though, it is quite old. I had a feeling that's what it was, but as I had never washed my engine bay like that, I was making sure it wasn't anything more than that. Thanks.

If this starter is 2 days old, what happened to the old starter? Is there a chance the same issue has caused your new starter to fail also?

          ...just a thought...

The old starter had seen many years of use, my car has 260,000 miles on it, no telling how long that starter has been on it. Alas, no it was the battery terminals. They have decided to leak some stuff and be a pain in my ass. Also the wires for the battery seem to be in terrible condition. I bought all new wiring for it though. It started right up after I cleaned the terminals off.

            Here are some pictures:

While I was changing starter, removing A/C P/S, etc:

            Covered Everything:

            Transmission Side:

            Timing Belt Side:

            Oil was pooled up here:

            Gunk:

Results were good for 20 minutes worth of work. Enough to see where the leak was coming from:

Pretty much everywhere. I am not sure what happened, but the distributor, valve cover, main crank seal, cam seal, and it was smoking horridly.

My vote goes towards a cam seal or balancer shaft seal. When they go its like a fountain. Best of luck getting her fixed.

Thanks man. I am hoping I can gather enough $$$ to do an F20B swap vs doing a half-assed rebuild of the F22 that's in there.
