wont the aluminum just fatigue and end up breaking? how is this any different than the original mounting plate piece?

Yes it will!!!!! I got a huge hole in my megan racing headers cause of that mount...now I just shaved it off and don't even use that mount and I accutally don't scrape the bottom of my dp anymore...I don't know what that says about megan racing tolerances or quality, but the mount is not truly needed

Update. This mount is still solid as ever. No cracks!!
