does this sound like the IAC to you?

Hey guys I have a nice little question about my 1992 Honda Accord. I have a full H22A swap with the MP1A transmission. (AUTO) So when I start my car I have to leave it in (N) because my TCU is from a Prelude and the safe lock for the shifter will not let me get it out of (P) with out the key. But while its warming up it pritty much runs just fine. But after I take it out to where ever I'm going and then put it back in to (P) or (N) the RPMS will shoot up and then drop and it will do this untill I turn the car off. But when I start it again it runs just fine? Also I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the changing idel but if I'm going 40MPH and I let up off of the gas the RPMs will drop down to somewhere around 1 grand or less but then when I give it gas it just comes right back up. But again if I'm going over 40MPH it will not do this? So any ideas guys? Could it be the IACV or something else? There is no check engine light on. (But I do think it might need a new o2 sensor) Any help would be great thanks guys!

Try adjusting the Fast Idle Valve located underneath the throttle body. Remove the 2 screws holding the plate on and turn the white plastic piece clockwise all the way down and back off about 1 turn.

yeah I'm hunting down this same issue on my car, the damn bouncing idle. Only does it when warm so I'm thinking its a leaking FITV. I have 3 different ones but it doesn't seem to get any better. I already swapped in about 3 diff. IACVs as well and I don't think that's the problem.

I'm just thinking about deleting the FITV completely if I can't figure it out and make a block off plate

I havent really messed with anything on my accord yet (IAC, or the FIV) and in the last two weeks my car has only had the idel problem once and that was tonight. So I am guessing that it fixed itself for the most part. The idle still drops when I get off the gas at low speeds but I'm just guessing thats one of them random "after swap" problems.

sounds kinda like your torque converter is just letting go, kinda like when you come up to a stop

Mine just stoped one day and it hasnt done it since? So I guess mine just worked itself out. Other then the Idel drop when I'm going 40mph or less it still does that but IDK why so I just live with it.
