so, i replaced a brake line and caliper on my ex in the rear. the line i replced was the little metal section. i bled the brakes and they work fine, except for the fact that my pedal almost goes to the floor. when i pump them, it a little better, but still squishy. when the car is not running, the pedal builds pressure, but not when its running. could it be my master cylinder?

Perhaps my master cylinder is bad?

Did you let the fluid level drop in the master when you changed out that line? if so then you might need to re bench bleed the master before you bleed the brake lines

When I bled my master cylinder I threw it on a vise. As stated before it should come with two tubes. You attach the tubes to the open ports and loop them back up to top of brake master cylinder.
Here is a video that "eric the car guy" did. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trotrlIG2skLast edited by dhill_cb7; 01-20-2012, 06:44 PM.

I personally never bench bled a BMC.
But yes you got air, bleed your brakes. What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.
You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!
