    Oxygen sensor vs fan

    I ordered an ngk sensor to finally fix my check engine light and it was warm the other day so i was checking out how to replace it before it got here. I have an F22a1 canadian ex (like the us lx) and I never noticed this before but the fan is actually the reason my sensor hasn't been working, the fan's blades had cut through a couple of the wires on the O2 sensor, has anyone else had this problem before because nothing came up when i searched it and i wanted to know if there was anything that can be down so i dont ruin another sensor and have to buy one again...

    Zip-tie the wire away from the fan blades.

      wouldn't that cause a kink in the wire though? not sure if that would help either, cause the amount it comes out from the heat shield, the end with the wires is only a couple millimetres from the fan

        Only tie with away from the blades. It's not enough force to alter anything , unless you muscle it in.

          fan = 1
          Oxygen sensor = 0

          I like having my oxygen sensor in my downpipe.

            You should be fine. Just ziptie it back to the o2 body. Remember that the fan pushes air into the engine bay so the blades will bend away from the sensor a little when they are running.

            Your other option is get a slim fan.

              i wish my o2 was in the downpipe, any 22a1 owners had this problem before? hopefully the old sensor was replaced with a wrong one before and it stuck out a lot longer then it should and i wont have this prob with the new one...if i'm going to get a slim fan, the fans just slide out right?

                Or or just throwing it out there you can replace your fans with some thin ones and not work about it any more.

                  Why need a slim fan when you can get problem fixed for free? Just asking. It's pretty senseless to opt out for a slim fan when you can fix it by zip ties.

                    the zipties alone still seem to let the wires touch the fan a bit, thinking of zip-tying the fan up a little bit cause there is a little it can move forward as well as the sensor wires back a bit and maybe taking the sensor wiring off that bolt connecter and tucking it, does the sensor just pull out like lefty-lucy? cause i've tried left and right and no movement at all
