      Thanx for the info man.
Ok, so as long as all the basics work Brakes brake lights signals High and lows. I should be good. As well as passing emitions. Do i need a front mounted license plate like new york? And do you know anything about tints up there?

Front tints are illegal... front plates are required by nj.

Emissions is essential for a nj registered car. So I suggest putting your cat back on.

If you can, leave the car registered and insured from florida to save yourself some headaches. Especially for a modified car...

I just went through and passed inspection this past Friday.

New Jersey NO LONGER tests ANYTHING but emissions on any cars. For example, if you have tints on all your windows and all your brake lights are out, as long as your emissions test within limits, you will pass. Although those things are still regulated by the law elsewhere on the road...

What they do, at least with our cars (being how hold they are), is probe the exhaust to read the emissions at idle, then at a raised and maintained RPM. After, they drive the car over a video camera that displays the undercarriage and thus the exhaust system on a screen for them to see - end of the line for those without a catalytic converter. Lastly, they remove the gas cap and test that separately, and that's it.
