Window glass pops out of track

Never had this issue with the car until I bought it back. There was a small rip in the window seal on the driver's door. Sometimes the glass would catch on it as it was rolling up or down.

When rolling the window up, it would never seat all the way in the top corner and would leave a slight gap, causing wind noise and letting water in.

Just now, I was at the drive thru and when I rolled my window up, it rolled all the way up, and then near the top, it popped out of the track and slanted forward a little bit, giving me a huge gap and the window won't close properly now.

I took out the window seal and readjusted it, but seemed to make no difference. I have the door panel off and I just can't figure out where or what the glass is hitting to cause it to do this.

Here's some pics and a short video to show you what's happening. I'm confused and really annoyed, because it's raining right now, and supposed to rain for the next few days.

This car has been attempted to be broken into on the passenger side, but there's no damage to the seals or the door, just some dents on the chrome roof trim from where they tried to jimmy the door open. I don't know why all of a sudden the driver's window is acting up like this.

The glass will roll up this far before it begins to start moving out of the track.

This is with the glass all the way up. The front of it is not seating, and is leaving a gap, because it's tilted forward

This is the glass all the way up, popped out of the track.

This is where it seems to hit and then pop out

I don't know about the sedans but the coupes have a stopper-guide clip on the right top corner of the glass may be yours is missing it? And that rip window seal looks like it may need to be replaced to help with the problem.

I actually cut that bit of the seal off because it had a rip in it which the glass kept catching and then pushing the seal inside itself. Without that piece now it still works fine, but I'll grab a seal from the JY.

I've seen that guide pin on the coupes, but the sedans don't have it. I've looked up some info and sounds like it could just be the screw or bolt coming loose that holds the glass. Need to realign it and tighten it.

Sounds like a plan, let us know what you end up doing to fix the problem.

I went and fiddled with it a little more. The glass itself wiggles up and down. I cant tell whether it's the glass itself, or the entire regular wiggling, but something towards the front of the door is definetly loose. With the door panel off, I can roll up the window, and stick my hand under the glass and push it up straight.

However, as the glass goes up and I straighten it, the glass seems like it hits the rubber seal near the bend of the A pillar of the door towards where it sweeps up to the roof, and knocks it off.

Something is loose, I just haven't located the issue. I wont have a chance to look at it til tomorrow night as I have to head up to Edmonton at 6am with my room mate to go pick up his new truck.

Its possible your window regulator #2, #10 and the sash #14 is bad or bent out of shape. My glass stick out sometime like that. What I did is check to make sure the regulator is bolt on tight, lube the two sash or guides on the sides with wd40. My sash #14 was kinda bent out of shape so I pull it toward me to correct the shape and now the window/glass work like new.

FYI those sash guide thing are not sturdy/strong as it can be bent back and forth so you will have to correct allign them so your window can operate smoothly and correctly.

I've been having the exact same issue.

I just bought and installed a new regulator, when installing it I noticed the window clip had broken, so I epoxied it back together. That only lasted a day haha. The old regulator was also bent and had way to much play.

A new window, since you can't buy just the clips, lists at over $200 from honda.
Ill be making a trip to the junkyard soon.

I'm having this same issue. Just haven't had time to pull the door panel off and take a look-see.

I replaced 3 of the four regulators on my wagon. similar on sedans. On all, the window stopped at a half inch from top...culprit is the wire plastic guides all broken. Not you problem I hope..maybe. and it very well be as they said..a bent regulator. (took off a panel on a Chrysler last week to discover the entire regulator bent!) On the drivers' side I replaced, I hurried due to needing to go to the hospital for heart attack while doing it..so the window was not put in track right.
Tomorrow I am going to finish the job right. I will take the panel out. If I look through the metal, I will see the bolts that hold the window to the glass. I will loosen those so I can position the window back into the track and check it up and down. Then with a buddy holding the window so it doesn't move off track, I will tighten the bolts. I will check the window up and down and redo if needed. Only when I am satisfied will I put the panel back. Of course I will take meds first!
                        Hope this helps..let me know.

I'll be fiddling with it tomorrow. It's 1030 and just got home from picking up my room mate's truck.

3 weeks ago I went to Edmonton to get my SE back, and went back there again for a truck today. I've never made the trip there and back without all sorts of trouble and BS along the way.

I find too, that aside from my driver window messing up, all 3 of my other windows are really slow to roll up and down. My passenger front window even gets stuck sometimes and I need to move the window up and down a couple of times before it'll smoothly go down. However that window has no issues with closing and sealing properly.

I've found if I stick my hand in the door, through the hole above the speaker and push up on the glass as it's going up, it will keep it level and the window closes properly.

If I don't, the window tilts forward like the photos show. There is play within the regulator to allow the window to rock up and down by hand.

Is the regulator shot, or is there something I can do to fix it? I can't figure out what part is causing the loose play.

Basically, I have to drive around with no door panel if I want to roll my window up and down for now.
