Vtec!!!

hey ppl i have a jdm h22 nd when i hit high rmps(vtec) it blows out black smoke out the exhaust...any one know y??

My USDM P13 does that too. VTEC runs rich. I guess that's the way Honda designed it. Or maybe I haven't hit VTEC enough for the ECU to properly learn the engine mappings for VTEC.

H22s tend to run pig rich from the factory, so that sounds about right.

you have a chipped computer and an aftermarket intake manifold. you should have it dyno tuned to get the best performance out of it.

Crome doesn't chip anything.It is a program used for tuning... and a P13 can't really be tuned.

A properly chipped and tuned P28 or P06 w/VTEC circuit will work.

But the Skunk2 doesn't have IABs deev.......hehe

However, if the OP was ever to go back to using a stock H22 intake manifold with IAB's. A P72 or modified P75 would be an advantage.
