drivers side window up an down problem

Ok im usually good at chasing this small stuff down but this is a headache. My problem is my window rolls up an down then wont roll up an down at all for days then its may work a couple times an so on. Now i replaced the motor an regulator as the on in there was bad an i resodered an cleaned contacts on master switch an tested on another car so that is working. My question is could the main control box be the problem for this. Just asking before i take it apart. All other windows work except the driver window. Thanks in advance for advice.

Well i see alot of people have viewed this thread but no response. That leads me to believe that A) Nobody has any advise or B) this is a dumb question an i am getting treated as so. No worries though i think i am stuck on stupid an missing somthing just frustrated at this point with this issue.

I viewed and I have no solution unfortunately. I did just have a driver window issue due to my regulator, which I just replaced, but sounds like your issue is electrical.

Have you tried cleaning the contacts of the driver side switch?

Driving around the last two days with drivers side down becuase I am unable to get my friend to hold the window. So I have the project on my mind. Read your post and was going to answer but then you said the regulator was replaced. That should have done the trick...but I have to go with some of the other stuff like track dirty or window not in track like mine was. You said the control works for the other windows? Check the plugs from the metal frame to the control. Make sure they are all in and run a test before you put panel on. You don't need to plug in power side widow or the tiny door light at bottom yet. Watch it all in motion and see what it might be: regulator not tighten or window not in track or you left a tool or object in window well near regulator. I broke off the screw holder on window...so I wait till glue bonds with window down till we do it tomorrow. Good thing I live in L.A. ...no rain or cold nights so far.
