    RSX muffler?

I'm thinking about putting one on my daily since its quiet yet gives a little more of a note than a bone stock CB muffler. My daily's muffler has 251k on it and I think is sorta falling apart.

Anyone have pics of it installed? and did you have to cut/weld it extensively to fit or was it almost bolt on?

guess this wouldn't be wise to do since nobody's done it before

I'm sure it would work fine. You'd probably have to cut and weld it but I would defiantly put one on my car if I could find one.

You can put any muffler you want, it just wont bolt up, you have to weld new supports to match the cb7's

I tried to find the 05+ rsx type s cause it looks and i've heard it flows better but couldn't find one, so I got a 08 civic si insted, It looks right at home in the cut out and I think it sounds just as good. and yeah it needed to be welded up.

is that just the muffler added on as an axle back in that vid? no increase in piping?

I got a rsx muffler on mine. and trust me i regreted it badly, if fits like ass and bends the tip towards the ground.

I thought I had pics but i dont, I wish I would have gotten the s2k muffler or 08 civic si

No, its the whole civic axle back cut and stretched to fit my exhaust.

just found out its the Base version of the muffler, still think it'd be worth it? Is there a huge difference between the type s and base?

My old EX muffler began to spring holes after I lowered my car, so I installed a stock EP3 Civic Si muffler. It sounds nearly identical to stock, albeit with more bark when blipping the throttle for downshifts. It also sounds more metallic past 3500 RPM. I didn't rev past 4500 RPM in this clip. I used only the pieces downstream of the rear axle.

I would assume the RSX (non type-s) muffler would sound exactly the same as this, seeing as both of these cars had K20 engines producing 160 hp. I'm not sure if the engines/mufflers are identical, however.

Maybe in flow but I really don't know, the type s has a sweet tip on it.

I am going to stick a newer Si muffler on mine as soon as I find one thats cheap. Ill probably stick the resonator on there too since my piping is already 2.25".

How different is the Si exhaust compared to the RSX internally? is it a straight through design? I'm basically sticking this on my daily and if I can benefit in gas mileage from its straight through design then I might just go for it, already have a sweet RSR EX-Mag catback on my coupe that I'd never give up.

I found an 09' Civic Si muffler locally for 100 bucks, but idk if it'd be worth the extra 75 compared to the RSX one I found
