    oil leak need help!

alright guys ive had this oil leak for a bit it only happens when the cars running, my oil filter is soaked in it, i put a new filter in and its still soaked. im thinking its the rear main seal. does my oil leak sound like it could be the rear mail seal? any help would be appriecated, thanks.

The rear main seal is actually at the right end of the engine behind the flywheel. You might try cleaning the back of the block to make sure, but your problem is most likely the oil pressure switch which is mounted to the back of the block immediately above the oil filter. They fail and leak through the switch so replace it, don't just remove it and put some sealant on the threads hoping that will fix it. Other possibilities include a head gasket or valve cover gasket leak.

i agree. just had this problem. if your oil filter is soaked more likely its the oil pressure switch. 10 bucks should solve your problem.

what engine do you have. if you have an f22a6 or f22a4 change the oil cooler seal.

        IT IS WHAT IT IS

im betting on the oil pressure switch. if it is use a 24mm deep wall socket to get the oem one out. the aftermarket ones are 1'' or 1 1/16''. i bought a beck brand from oreillys and it was a 1 1/16. i had to also invest in the universal socket to the new one in.

on rockauto you should've clicked "accord ex" so that should only bring up parts for the a6. They all say "with light" so i'd say they are all the same part, different packaging.

Calm down, i wasn't trying to say you fucked it up, i'm saying they're all the same thing. They may have slightly different designs and be made from different metals, but they are all made for your engine.
