    Convert Power Window to Manual

I want to Convert my Power window regulator on my drivers side to manual one. any tips or things i need to look out for? (91 sedan EX).

has anyone actually done it. ..... also has anyone drilled a hole in the original interior door trim panel and just attached the manual Plastic crank handle that way. (thus allowing me to preserve my other electronic controls for my other windows, and not have to convert to "dx interior panel".

(ps: i've searched it... one person said it was dooable but ive found no evidence of anyone whos done it actually).

(PS2:... please guys dont post a bunch of answers like "why would you wanna do that, and..... did you try greasing up yer tracks and doing this and that?, i want no tips on how to make the power window run better please).

i've tried all the shit. i'm sick of this power window. i'm in a cold climate and those motors burn out faster then cigarettes. i'm not interested in preserving the power window on the drivers side anymore.

just the interior panel, and install a manual crank.

thanks to anyone who answers with real knowledge of this :P

That's funny because I'm doing the complete opposite, the.hardest part will be the hole in the door panel everything else is bolt on. The only issue I see is that the crank on the manual windows is not long enough to go thought your existing door panel. I think the door panel with the power items is bulkier at the bottom than the DX one so the crank will not go all the way threw unless you can make or find some type of extension.
    Look I went from this

    To this

See the difference where the crank is compared to the other one.

      interesting,

i wonder if the front....drivers door ... which is the one i'm doing is "bulkier"

i'm fairly sure i could rigg something up.

i mean the other option is i switch to DX interior panel and try to mount my power window controls for my other 3 windows someplace.

also, i'm curious if the manual regulator will jsut bolt right up to the non-manual door... then i can worry about the panel situation if it will.

cuz i don't wanna have to completely butcher the existing door metal to make the manual one work... i imagine they are identical... but not sure.

Yes it will bolt right up with no issues what so ever all the cb doors are the same if you take off your door panles you will see a hole already cut out on the door from the factory. I have.my manual regulators in the garage but look at this pic for reference the hole is the same on all doors
